Homemade Pumpkin Dog Treat Recipe from the World's Worst Blogger

WOW. This year has taught me a whole bunch of stuff about myself. One of those things being that I suck at blogging. Really, I'm just plain awful. I have got to start being more committed. Maybe a future New Year's Resolution? Yeah, we'll think about that.

Oh! And one more thing I never did when I started this blog, was give a proper introduction. I just kind of jumped into random stuff. I know I have an 'About Us' page, but who even reads those anyway? Well, who even reads this blog anyway? Regardless, here it is:  (If you're just here to grab the recipe and run, scroll on down!) I love writing. I always have. I'm an English major in college, so that's got to mean something, right?! I started this blog because like most bloggers, I love doing DIY projects. I'm constantly working on something new and I think that kind of drives my husband nuts because he's always being dragged into them. Oh well, he's in it for the long run now. ;)My husband's name is Justin and he can do anything. Seriously. He says that's not true, but I've seen it first hand. That's why we're such a great team!

Back to why I started this blog. Justin and I are living in our first home together. We love it! It's a great house. It's a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom rustic/elegance kind of home. However, it isn't our dream home and it isn't in our dream location. Our goal is to live here while I finish school and do some upgrades to the house we think would be desirable to the next buyer (and us while we live here!) and then when the time is right sell and build our own home. Location is up in the air right now, but that will work itself out with time. So, the reason for this blog is to be able to 'jot' down all of our hard work during this process. Kind of like an online Home Journal. Also, my dad is just learning how to use the internet and he likes any extra excuse to see cute pictures of our dog. ha! I'm serious, too. Lol. And who knows, maybe it might be helpful to someone else!

The name, Hudson's House came from our adorable dog we adopted in January at 9 weeks old! He thinks he owns our house and that Justin and I just kind of live with him. My friend sent me a photo awhile back that said, "Whoever said diamonds are a girls best friend obviously never owned a dog" I couldn't agree more. :) I love that silly little dog more than I ever thought I could. He is our little boy and people tease us that we love him more than we will love our future children. I agree doubt it. He doesn't wake me up at night, I don't have to pay for his college, and he never mouths off so i'd say we got a pretty good thing going right now.

So that's us! Now that we got that out of the way, we can get back to the recipe:

I found this recipe HERE and knew that I would definitely be making some for Hudson. Two of Hudson's most favorite treats in ONE? I think that's a winner. Also, the other blogger said she thought the treats would taste better if they were heart shaped. I think Hudson agreed.

Peanut Butter Pumpkin Dog Treats:

2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
2 large eggs
2/3 cup pumpkin purée, canned or fresh
3 tbsps peanut butter

Preheat the oven to 350°F. Place all ingredients in a mixing bowl. Mix on medium for about a minute or until the dough looks like a bunch of little dough balls. If you pinch a piece and it crumbles, add a little
water. If it’s really sticky, it’s too wet and you’ll need to add a little flour. Gather the
dough together and form into a ball. Place on a lightly floured work surface and roll it out
to about 1/4-inch thickness. You can either use a cookie cutter to cut out cute shapes or
use a knife to cut squares or strips. Place the cookies on a baking sheet. They can be crowded
pretty close together since they don’t expand much. Bake 15-20 minutes for softer
treats or 30 minutes for hard treats. Let cool completely. Makes 100+ 1-inch heart-shaped dog treats.
Mixing, rolling, impatient dog waiting at your feet.

After all that waiting, Hudson finally got a taste and he approves!

I love these treats because they're so CHEAP to make and my dog absolutely loves them. I've caught him sitting next to the counter where we keep them waiting for us to give him one. I will definitely be making more! Hope you all make some for your favorite furry friend, too! :)
